Where to dispose of your tree

There are lots of ways to ensure your tree doesn’t go to waste after Christmas. Some Christmas tree farms even offer to take them back and recycle them for you.

Or, if you have the space, you can plant the tree in your garden ready for next year!

But they can be recycled too. Did you know that your tree can be turned into chippings for parks? Your local district or borough council will have drop off points or, if chopped up into manageable pieces, you can recycle them via kerbside garden waste schemes. Alternatively, you can take them to your tip (household waste recycling site).

Want to know what else you can recycle this Christmas season? You can recycle advent calendars, Christmas cards and even lights depending on where you live. Find out more: ‘Tis the season to recycle
