Seaford Better Cycling Options – WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The Ouse Valley CARES project, led by the South Downs National Park Authority, is working to create an engaged, knowledgeable community, where residents and decision-makers understand the threats posed by the climate emergency and collaborate to build ecological resilience.
As part of this, the Seaford Better Cycling Options study has identified potential interventions which would enable more cycling in the area by residents and visitors. As a result of the pandemic, healthier lifestyle preferences and climate change issues more people are interested in cycling, but provision locally remains limited.
We have reviewed existing and potential routes plus barriers to participation like the lack of cycle parking. SCP is keen to get the views of local residents of all ages, including those who would like to start cycling as well as people who already cycle. Use this link – Seaford Better Cycling – Consultation on proposals or scan the QR code to access more information, comment and complete the survey.
Following the consultation, a final report will be produced to give local Councils and other public bodies a supportive document to seek funding – including from Active Travel England body, set up by the Government in Jan 2022. It will also help to plan policy and deliver successful outcomes.
There will be a public meeting: 7-9pm, Tues 12 April at Seaford Baptist Church, Belgrave Road, Seaford.
Consultation closes midnight Fri 15th Apr 2022
