For Mental Health Awareness Week this May, East Sussex Libraries are thrilled to be hosting our first ever Wellbeing Weekend, 14th-15th May.
We’re running online events all weekend from creative writing to rambling to yoga to help you support your wellbeing. There will also be lots of advice, activities and wellbeing tips on our webpage for the whole of May.
Online Beginners Yoga – Vinyasa Flow. This is a creative and dynamic movement Class aimed at Beginners, including slow and balanced flows that strengthen, tone and stretch all muscles. We explore circular movements within the body to improve joint function and there is a ladder approach to sequencing that allows for more difficult postures to be attempted safely and with confidence.
The practice begins and ends with a short Yin session, to open a specific target area of the body and to set the intentions for the group. It combines aerobic and resistance techniques as part of the warm-up.
There is a 15 minute relaxation and breathing meditation at the end of the class to help restore balance and develop self-awareness. Come along and try it. This class is energising and enhances positivity whilst also connecting with other members of this supportive Online Yoga Community.
No equipment required but you may find Yoga Blocks helpful and pillows or cushions for comfort during relaxation.
