In 2019, Lothar Götz transformed the exterior of Towner Eastbourne when his large scale, geometric artwork Dance Diagonal was chosen as the Brewers Towner Commission through an open call to mark the gallery’s 10th anniversary in our current building. Since then, the work has become an iconic feature of Eastbourne’s landscape, and an Instagram sensation! We are therefore delighted to announce that Dance Diagonal has been extended until 2024.
To celebrate, we would like to invite you to join Lothar Götz for a virtual in-conversation event with Towner’s Director Joe Hill on Tuesday 23 February at 4pm.
The pair will discuss Lothar’s work and practice, including Dance Diagonal, his current exhibition Salvation at London’s domobaal gallery, as well as his forthcoming projects and commissions.
The event is free to attend and open to all, although we would welcome a donation to support Towner’s programme. You can make a donation, and there will also be opportunities before and after the event to make a donation online if you wish.
If you are interested in acquiring a piece of Götz’s work for your own collection, the artist and domobaal have kindly agreed to gift 10% of purchases from his exhibition Salvation to Towner until 10 March.
If you would like to take a look at the work in the show, you can do so and enquiries can be made to mail@domobaal.com / 07801703871
