National HIV Testing Week is a campaign to promote regular testing among the most affected population groups in England. This helps to reduce the number of people living with undiagnosed HIV and those diagnosed late.
The campaign continues last year’s success and features celebrities and influencers promoting ‘Give HIV the finger: a finger-prick test is all it takes’.
Ahead of National HIV Testing Week on 1 February, postal HIV testing kits are now available to order:
Free STI and HIV self-sampling test kits from freetest.me or EastSussexSexualHealth
 What about COVID-19?
This year’s campaign is focusing on HIV testing at home. We know that Sexual Health Services and community testing initiatives have been significantly impacted by the pandemic and opportunities to test have been minimised.
HIV has not gone away, and it is still essential for undiagnosed individuals to know their status. National HIV Testing Week is an opportunity to provide a free home HIV test to those who need one whilst relieving pressure on the health system and enabling our NHS colleagues to focus on tackling COVID-19.
