Creativity + Routine + Community = Better Health

Commissioned by the East Sussex Public Health Team in January 2021, Everyday Creativity seeks to explore the impact of creative activity on people’s health and wellbeing during lockdown, developing the things that people have been doing to manage their mental health, build resilience and combat social isolation, with everything from music and photography to crafting and cooking.

This work is being led by creative organisations and individuals across East Sussex. Activity throughout 2021 will be co-designed and developed with 5 distinct groups of people:
Personal Assistants (PAs) supporting people in the local community:
PA’s that are supporting people in the local community can access support via a creative programme led by Community21; creative researchers at The University of Brighton, The Centre of Arts and Well-being. If you are Personal Assistant we would love you to get involved. Find out more about how you can take part and access creative resources here:  Everyday Creativity – Case studies – Community21

We aim to produce and curate a bank of resources based on these interventions, to enable a wider population to benefit in the future. We will share the learning and any relevant supporting materials produced, to support a wider range of the local population, so watch this space for updates, and check out #EverydayCreativityEastSussex online for more.
