Join Brighton Festival Chorus and Brighton Festival Youth Choir for a joyful afternoon of informal summer music whilst enjoying home-made cakes, a cup of tea or a glass of wine to herald the end of the lockdown restrictions.

2pm: Singing Workshop Juliette Pochin who will get us all to stand taller, breathe better, make some extraordinary noises and SING.
3pm: Community Carmina. James Morgan will unleash your inner choral singer as you join the choirs to rehearse one of two of the famous movements from that most popular of choral works, Carmina Burana.
4.30pm: Unlockdown Performance. BFC and BFYC perform some of the remarkable mixture of summer songs they rehearsed during lockdown. These will include the glorious George Shearing arrangements of Shakespeare Songs, Eric Whitacre’s Sleep, a Youth Choir favourite – Chattanooga Choo Choo and to celebrate the return of live music, an exhilarating arrangement of It’s a Wonderful World.

Entry is free. All the family are welcome and attendees may come and go. Refreshments will be served from 1.30pm and throughout the afternoon and there will be the opportunity for those interested in joining BFC (adults) or BFYC (11-18 years) to arrange an audition.
