Many towns across East Sussex are holding festive late night shopping evenings and lighting up events to mark the switching on of their Christmas Lights.
We’ve pulled together details of some of the events where you can enjoy sparkling lights as you shop!
Heathfield Lighting Up Event, 22 November 3.45pm to 6.30pm
A lucky winner will be turning on the town’s Christmas lights at this year’s Lighting Up Event.
Enjoy stalls, entertainment, mulled wine and mince pies with late night shopping and Father Christmas for children to visit.
Rye Late Night Shopping, 23 November, 4.45pm to 8pm
Kick off the festive season with a magical late night shopping evening in the charming town of Rye.
Starting with a big switch on of the Christmas tree at The George Hotel at 4:45pm followed by lots of festive fun. Local shops will be open until 8pm, and there will be festive food and drink stalls and live music dotted around the town.
Crowborough Christmas Cracker Evening, 29 November, 4pm to 6.30pm
This annual event is always great fun. The Christmas lights will be switched on at 6pm and with music and entertainment in the Piazza beforehand.
There will be street performers to entertain visitors, and festive stalls will line the High Street. In addition, the land train will be transporting children and their families to visit Santa in his Grotto at the Social Club in Croft Road.
Hailsham Christmas Lights Switch On, 29 November, from 4pm
Hailsham is gearing up for a spectacular show in Vicarage Field this year.
Featuring festive entertainment as well as the big switch-on. The Christmas lights will see the town centre transformed into a twinkling winter wonderland.
Santa will be handing out free sweets to children at the event (courtesy of Hailsham Rotary Club) and pupils from Hailsham Community College and Primary Academy Schools will be carol singing prior to the official switch-on, which will take place at 6pm.
Meads Magic, Meads Street, Eastbourne, 29 November, 2.30 to 7.30pm
Meads Magic will see beautiful Meads Street lined with stalls filled with festive activities.
Enjoy a Christmas market with local produce and arts and crafts, plus entertainers, a Christmas parade and Santa’s Grotto.
Eastbourne Christmas Lights Switch On, 30 November, 10am to 7pm
Get ready for a festive extravaganza at the Eastbourne Christmas lights switch on. There will be late night shopping, entertainment and a Christmas market during the day.
Explore a wonderland of festive stalls, brimming with unique gifts and holiday treats to make your Christmas shopping a breeze. See Eastbourne’s Christmas lights and giant interactive LED tree switch on at 6pm.
Battle Late Night Shopping, 5 and 6 December, 4pm to 9pm
Conquer your Christmas list with two evenings of festive fun in Battle this year.
Start your Christmas shopping in the many independent shops and with music and entertainment for the whole family. Plus enjoy free family cinema and crafts and free parking in Rother car parks.
Uckfield Late Night Shopping, 6 December, 5.30pm to 9pm
Uckfield is hosting a late-night shopping evening when many shops will be open late, and the High Street will be packed with a variety of food and drink stalls, plus entertainment.
Enjoy festive stalls outside Bridge Cottage and an Arts Trail. Santa will park his sleigh in Olive’s Yard just off the High Street and there will be a ‘walk though’ nativity.
Christmas in Little Chelsea, Eastbourne, 6 December, 12noon to 9pm
Enjoy some festive fun in Little Chelsea and welcome in December with a cheer!
This annual street party returns with late night shopping, a Christmas market on Grove Road and South Street, children’s rides, festive food and live entertainment.
Wadhurst Late Night Shopping, 6 December, 4pm to 8pm
Stroll along the High Street and browse the gift stalls. There will also be festive food and drink.
