The Oyster Club is on Monday mornings 10-12am at Westgate. It is a weekly drop in space for people over (or nearly) 60 to come and relax, find some quiet space, make friends and be creative. It is run by Hannah and her husband Kevan. Occasionally other artists , musicians and complimentary therapists will drop in too.
Choose from art and craft activities, mindful doodling or colouring, learn how to manipulate a hand or rod puppet, music, relaxing hand massage, tables with magazine and books to read and tea, coffee and snacks are available.
Although the club is for anyone over (or nearly) 60 years old, we especially welcome people with disabilities including memory problems and dementia. Hannah is experienced at working creatively with people of many different abilities and ways of communicating and their families or carers (including the later stages of dementia and learning disabilities) she would very much like this to be an inclusive space where everyone is welcome.
Payment is by donation to the Oyster Project (suggested donation £2-5).
Westgate is at the top end of the high street opposite the Westgate car park and next door to the Brewer’s Arms pub. It is set back from the street and we have a ramp for wheel chairs.
