In 2012, three iconic events took place: London hosted the Olympics, Curiosity Rover landed on Mars, and Adult Social Care launched East Sussex 1Space.
1Space is East Sussex County Council’s online directory with a focus on care, support and wellbeing services for people who live in the county. 1Space is there to help you find what you need to live independently, safely and in good health.
2,000+ services to choose from
From small beginnings of around 700 entries when it launched in November 2012, 1Space has grown to include well over 2,000 services. That means there are more services available to help East Sussex residents than there are people in the village of Camber.
East Sussex 1Space has information on a wide range of services and support including (but not limited to):
- good neighbour / befriending schemes
- support groups
- food banks
- organisations who can help with money or housing issues
- activities for the less active
- residential services
- personal assistants
- mental health services and much more
Ten years of visits
1Space is getting more and more popular. Every week, 1Space gets over 10,000 views. In fact, since its launch, 1Space has had over a million unique views!
Not just for adults
Just a year ago, in November 2021, 1Space expanded to include East Sussex Local Offer services for children and young people (0-25) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
