It has been a long year and we are sure many of us may have reached for a glass of wine or pint of beer a little more frequently than we would normally.

Alcohol Change UK is encouraging people to  join in their Sober Spring campaign, a three-month alcohol sabbatical running from March to June.

By signing up for free you will receive weekly motivational emails with advice from experts. Not drinking is becoming much more normal and acceptable with almost a third of all 16-24 year olds now alcohol free. You can also download the Try Dry app. The app allows you to track your units, calories and money saved as well as setting goals that suit you.

Sober Spring doesn’t have to be about giving up alcohol permanently but more a route to changing your relationship with how you think about your drinking. It could be a kick-start to a healthier lifestyle, giving up alcohol, even for a short period of time can help you have more energy and get better quality sleep. Even three or four drink-free days a week cuts back on empty calories and will help you maintain a healthy weight.

Visit the Alcohol Change UK website for more information about changing your drinking habits.
