It’s almost time to celebrate Older People’s Day with a variety of events happening across the county!

To coincide with Older People’s Day on 1 October we will be celebrating the contribution older people make to our community. There is a packed programme of events taking place across the county throughout September and October.

Events range from coffee, cake and crafts, to days out, tea dances and movie screenings!

There are even plenty of activities being held at leisure centres across the county. Choose from aqua aerobics, walking football, health walks, cycling, swimming, pilates and tai chi.

All events are open to anyone and everyone (all ages are welcome!). Many are free or have a small charge, but don’t feel restricted to those in your local town!

Find out what’s happening by downloading a copy of the ‘Full of life events programme’ or you can pick up a copy from various locations including; council offices, libraries and participating leisure centres.

Tell us your stories

We would love to hear more inspirational stories about older people living within our county. Perhaps you know someone who makes a huge contribution to the local community, or someone that has relentless enthusiasm for life? Send their story and a photo (with their permission of course) to YES@eastsussex.gov.uk so we can feature them on our social media channels as we celebrate Older People’s Day!
